The historic 1.7 acre Atlantic Beach Estate was designed in 1961 as a single family residence by Jacksonville architect Taylor Hardwick, on an oceanfront site chosen for its seclusion and undisturbed natural beauty. It is now a group of pristine vacation condos which are leased for a minimum of 90 days for vacation, weekend beaching, business trips, medical treatment stays and/or just relaxed living. The breathtaking Estate has a 1200 square foot oceanfront swimming pool and a huge front lawn which provides panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Mr. Taylor was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright and stated that his aim in architecture was to “render the spaces with qualities which enhance the human spirit.” In constructing the Estate, all materials were chosen for their low maintenance and durability, and include white Texas brick, California redwood, Italian travertine, and glass. Mr. Hardwick designed the Estate with a floating cantilevered roof with redwood ceilings with outdoor decking and 8-feet overhangs all around.

The Estate was featured in a 1962 article in Town and Country Magazine, which noted that:

"The house is located on top of a high dune on a ridge that runs parallel to the beach and is oriented for full enjoyment of the view and prevailing breeze from the patio and swimming pool. For fall and winter protection from the ocean breeze, the pool was planned to angle around the living-room wing of the T- shaped house. . . "

The Estate has been updated with new appliances and granite countertops and all units are tastefully furnished with teak furniture, silk accents, and exotic furnishings. Rentals are all inclusive and include internet, cable television, and access to the beautiful grounds and the pool. Pets are welcome.
